<br />2/7/00 <br /> <br />COpy <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 13826 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />ESTABLISHING THE ALCOHOL VIOLATION TEMPORARY <br />AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Resolution No. 11738, adopted April <br /> <br />27, 1992, this Council approved a Joint Powers Agreement Establishing the Alcohol <br /> <br />Violation Temporary Authority; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 11995, adopted June 7, 1993, this <br /> <br />Council entered into a First Amended Joint Powers Agreement Establishing the Alcohol <br /> <br />Violation Temporary Housing Authority; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 12224, adopted June 27, 1994, this <br /> <br />Council entered into a Second Amended Joint Powers Agreement Establishing the <br /> <br />Alcohol Violation Temporary Housing Authority; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a Third Amendment to the Amended Joint Powers Agreement (the <br /> <br />"Third Amendment") has been presented to, and reviewed by, this Council; and <br /> <br />'J'JHEREA5, under the Thiïd Amendment, the parties thereto shall continue to <br /> <br />provide an alternative method of caring for certain persons accused of violations of law <br /> <br />based on the use of alcohol in lieu of incarceration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to continue its affiliation with the <br /> <br />County of San Mateo, Town of Atherton, City of Belmont, City of Foster City, City of Half <br /> <br />Reso-818 <br />F :/Sha red/Redwood/Cou n cil <br />DES:djk <br />01/31/00 <br /> <br />1 <br />
