ORIGINAL AGREEMENT WITH KAINOS HOME AND TRAINING CENTER FOR FUNDING TO ACQUIRE AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR SPECIAL NEEDS POPULATION 4 THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this ).J- day of ,1998, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a mu cipal corporation of the State of California, ("City"), and KAINOS HOME AND TRAINING CENTER FOR THE DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED, a California nonprofit corporation, ("Contractor"). WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 570.201 of the Code of Federal Regulations for the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) Program, funding assistance may be used to fund eligible activities to be carried out by private non-profit entities or public agencies, which are duly organized to acquire affordable housing for special needs populations. WHEREAS, the City's Consolidated Plan goals include expanding the supply of affordable housing for persons with disabilities; and WHEREAS, Kainos Home and Training Center has applied for funding assistance under the CDBG Program to acquire a dwelling located at 2033 Jefferson Avenue, in the City of Redwood City; WHEREAS, Kainos Home and Training Center's offer to purchase 2033 Jefferson Avenue, (the "Property"), has been accepted by seller; and WHEREAS, the City Council of City, on May 12,1997, approved Fifty Seven Thousand, Five Hundred and no/100 Dollars ($57,500.00) for Kainos Home and Training Center for property acquisition; and WHEREAS, Kainos Home and Training Center will use the property to provide independent living to developmentally disabled adults currently residing within the city limits of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, the following exhibits are attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein: Exhibit A: Exhibit B: Exhibit C: Exhibit D Program Services Method of Payment Deed of Trust Promissory Note Agreement-l 4/27/98
