STEWART SIMPSON pointed up the planned <br />intensive recreation use of SF watershed-property west of highwa~ - - <br />extension of 280 and noted that proposed interchange at Edgewood Road <br />does not proviðe safe access to recreation lands for bicycles, pedes- <br />trians, horses, etc. as it would require their crossing five lanes of <br />moving traffic to get from Redwood City to Canada-Road: suggests that <br />bridge over canyon would permit utilization of existing trail system: <br />suggests that proposed 6 lanes-of traffic within interchange ares <br />should be reduced to four. Chairman Whitmore requested metter to <br />March agenda. <br /> <br />MR.- GEORGE WEMMER and MR. LEROY PARKER, Condor Legion Airplane Club, <br />asked commission assistance in locating a suitable field for flying- <br />their IIU controlled" and Radio Controlled model planes7 noted member- <br />ship of approximately 35, junior and senior members varying 5 to 50 <br />years :'in age7 noted that Zimmerman field is still torn up and while ,,- <br />appropriate for IIU controlled" models was not so for Radio Controlled <br />ones 7 noted particularly that high school owned property approximately <br />opposite Canada College, on Farm Hill Blvd., would be a good site. <br />Chairman Whitmore will explore this site-possibility with Mr. Wemmer <br />and Mr. Parker and the high school people. Commissioner-Stuart sug-- <br />gested that the grou~ should go directly to the high school trustees. <br /> <br />MR.
