Mr. Knecht said that he hoped to discuss the mini-parks situation with <br />Mr. Fales before the November meeting. a <br /> <br />4. HERITAGE TREES- - Mrs. Terrill reported that she has studied the numerous Tree <br />Ordinances and that Ca.l Poly at ~ Inis Obispo has cCID.pleted the extnesive <br />report on the subject. She also reported that Mr. Wçne WestphaJ..l fran the <br />Planning Dept. .was preparing ~ Tree Ordinanoe for ,Redwood City and Mr. BaJ..zar:Lni <br />and she were meeting with Mr. WestphaJ.1 to discuss it. He has s bee met with Mr. Warren Fox and asked <br />has help in meeting witþ Leslie s~t. Csnpa;ny in securing additional land for the <br />proposed 18 hole golf course. Mr. Fox was introduced and told the c'A..tnission that <br />orginial..ly he has been asked to look into three sites - one was in the County, one <br />was in the town of Woodside and the third was the Scavenger property. Econanically <br />the first\. and second sites would not meet a feasibility s.tudy he felt. Mr. F.ox <br />continued -that thethird site of Redwood Shores would be the ideal location for <br />several reason. It was -in the City, sewage,- availabity of land and the possibility of <br />a land bank agreement with Leslie Salt 00. He did not- wish to give the c,A..thission <br /> <br />. - <br /> <br />legal advice or was not repres enting the Ci ty, but was ac1;ing as a favor to Mr. <br />Knecht. . CABOOOE COMMITTEE- Mr. Guida reported that the caboose in on the si te and the Park <br />Dept. has started the landscaping and the lines for the water have been completed. <br />Mr. Guida and Mr. Schenck suggested that the caboose pe stripped to the bare. <br />walls before further vandalism occures. They also,.. included cobering the interior <br />wi th pJ.ywood t~ re'!llove arty areas which would ~e surveillance dif'tieul. t~. The <br />upper. caboose windows should be ~arred so that children. can not elimb through. <br />Permanent steps should be. -buil~ to the- existing metal steps ,en both sides'. <br />Finally the camnittee felt that a4tU~;LonaJ. kighting' should be provided. Mr. <br />Guida reviewed- the project and stated that Mr. Paulson of the Recreation Dept. <br />had worked on: it. from. the beginning, but now that the caboo~e is on its s;tte <br />he was advised that.. it is, the responsibility of the Park Dept. Mrs. Terill referred <br />to previous minutes which stated that the- suggested :1.mprovements had been included in <br />the original~ estimate of the project including additional lighting. <br /> <br /> <br />
