MINI pARKS - ~. - Park & LiD:den <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />Mr. Knecht reviewed the history of proposed park and asked the cœmnission to recommend <br />the plans submitted by the Park Dept., far canpletion. Mr. Guida asked that a <br />drinking fountain be added. Lighting~, was discussed but was decided that this was park <br />far the very young and was not needed. stafi' reminded the commissióD,- of the numerous <br />canplaints from lights shining in windows. Mr. Knecht moved that plans be ac,cepted with <br />the as.s~ition~ of a drinking fountain, secondeci by Mr. Guida and carried. Chairman Thampso <br />be, noted absent. . Mr. Balzarini told of a service club wanting to invest $5,000 for <br />a mini park. Mr. Knecht felt that the City should build the park, but that money <br />donated by a service club could be used for equipnent. <br /> <br />. b . ~ Papn- R~e~ <br /> <br />No progress. Mr. Fales suggested that camnission decide shortly on a list of priorities. <br />The camnission is going to be required to asign to parks future operational cost. HER ITA G E TREES <br />Mrs. Terrill referred to the preliminary draft for a tree ordinance and asked the <br />commission to give it serious consideration. Unfortunately the members were unable to <br />read it before this meeting. Mr. Westphall was introduced and explained that the <br />purpose is to save trees on private property. Mrs. Terrill emphasized that this ordiance <br />is not meant to harass subdividers or haneowners. Reàwood City has so tnaJW beautiful <br />trees and ;t~is a tribute to residents, past ~ present, and to the Park Dept. for <br />planting splendid trees. A way must be found to establish a des ire wi thin our <br />camnunity ~o~appr~ciate our trees. <br /> <br />5 . GOLF COURSE - <br />Mr. Knecht repo~ted that Leslie Salt C. would not have arr¡ available land for a golf <br /> <br />, ~ <br /> <br />course for 20 years. The Scavenger properw would only build a 9 hole course. He <br />suggested t~at the Tr;bune be given an article on the golf course 8i tuation: Mr. <br />Paulson suggested that the County government be contacted with ,the idea of gtbing into <br /> <br />ø <br /> <br />. the golf bus iDes ~ . <br /> <br />6 . CABOOSE C<MŒTTEE <br />Mr. Guida reported that the lan~caping is progressing but that needed work on caboose <br />had not been comple~ed. There has been, extensive vandalism but when commission <br />recommendations are completed Mr. Guida flet vandalism would cUminish. Mr . Fales <br />suggested an article be submitted to the Tribune about the responsibUtiy of parents <br />in the use of city property. <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br />7 .
