<br /> <br /> <br />209 <br /> <br />Commissioner Weintraub suggested neighborhood meetings should be held and <br />Mr. Weeks felt all planning processes should include neighborhood meetings. <br />Mr. Balnk re~arked that many people did not receive notice regarding Hetch- <br />Hetchy. The survey of all adjacent residences was again reviewed. Commissioner <br />Guida made it clear that Hetch-Hetchy is not yet a definitive plan but rather just <br />a presentation and when it does become a plan, all-out efforts will be made to <br />inform all people within a, reasonable area. Several sketches will be prepared, ~ <br />neighborhood meetings will be called, the sketches will be discussed and inputs <br />will be gathered from anyone at the meetings. The Committee will then try to <br />incorporate as many desires of the citizens as possible. Hetch-Hetchy must be <br />funded and built. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Police Youth Club Status Report <br /> <br />The report was given by Mr. Weeks. A meeting with the Police Chief and the City <br />Manager produced a joint recommendation that the Police Youth Club should continue <br />in its operation and the City should continue to subsidize the program financially <br />with the provision that the Police Youth Club and its Board remain a separate <br />corporation to obtain comlliunity support, solicit funds, and formulate policy; <br />that the program function and Youth Club staff be coordinated with the City's <br />Recreation staff, and that the City's role in this program would be as advisor, <br />coordinator, and evaluator. Commissioner Weintraub requested a careful research <br />of the Police Youth Club and funds and a report to the Commission. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Monthly Reports <br /> <br />The Grant to the California Commission on Aging was submitted to the Council <br />May 7 and it was approved. It has been added to the Department for supervision. <br />Stulsaft Park design contract was approved by the Council on May 7 and it is <br />being prepared for signature. <br /> <br />Bill Paulson presented some slides of the sailing program at Redwood Shores. In <br />that there has been same question about the use of a motorized crash boat for <br />emergency use during sailing instruction, Redwood Shores Home Owners Association <br />will be contacted regarding the use of the crash boat. <br /> <br />Peppermint Patty will be able to serve 300 to 325 girls this year and sign-ups <br />are now being taken. Most of the programs are very well attended. <br /> <br />Chairman Schenck moved to accept the reports, seconded by Commissioner Weintraub. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />ROUND TABLE <br /> <br />Commissioner Guida discussed' the County Park & Recreation minutes, which are now being <br />sent to the Commissioners. He moved that a letter of invitation for a joint meeting <br />be sent to the Parks & Recreation Commission, seconded by Commissioner Warren. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />I~ was suggested that a Committee meeting be held to further discuss the college site <br />park potential. <br /> <br />The staff was complimented on the outstanding job they did on the St~mer Recreation <br />Program. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound asked if a new form had been made up for the Rules & Regulations <br />Committee. It was stated that the proposed rules are at the City Attorney's Office <br />being reviewed. <br /> <br />
