<br />- <br /> <br /> <br />106 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />That the proposed Carlos~Leahy~Northumberland site be considered <br />by the City Council for addition to the park system. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />That the acquisition of the site be considered a higher priority <br />than the expansion of the Fleishman Park area in order to satisfy <br />neighborhood park deficiencies. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />That if funds become available for acquisition of property for park <br />expansion, current priorities would be retained and the proposed site <br />would take its place as fifth in priority in accordance with the Five <br />Year Capital Improvement Program as proposed for fiscal years 1975- <br />76 to 1970-80. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound moved to accept the Open Space Committee Repott, <br />seconded by Commissioner Weintraub. The motion carried unanimously by <br />voice vote. <br /> <br />REPORT ITEM 7 - ~ommittee Scheduling <br /> <br />Program Committee - Monday, August 25,4:00 PM, CAB. <br />Open Space Committee - Wednesday, August 20,3:30 PM, CAB <br />Opera tional Policies - Wednesday, September 3, 4: 10 PM, CAB <br /> <br />ROUND TABLE <br /> <br />Commissioner Rollins mentioned there will be a Forty-Niner luncheon sponsored <br />by the Chamber of Commerce on September 4, 1975. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound requested a tour of the Forty-Niner facility after the season <br />to view the new computerized equipment. She further mentioned that there will be <br />a community day meeting sponsored by Mobil Oil Estates on August 20 (Wednesday) <br />at the Holiday Inn in Belmont. <br /> <br />Jurisdiction of the waterways at the Redwood Shores channel was next discussed. It <br />was pointed out that apparently private classes are being held at the beach area <br />near Mobil Oil Estates office and off the dock area adjacent the Pavilion. <br />Commissioner Pound questioned the safety factor and liability. Mr. Weeks indicated <br />that the areas are owned by Mobil Oil Estates and would therefore be their respon- <br />sibility. He further stated that the City has not as yet recognized the water areas <br />as public recreation areas and, therefore, has not assumed any recreational use <br />jurisdiction or liability. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />)' <br /> <br />
