JAMES AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION, DESIGN CONCEPT, AND PUBLIC HEARING TO <br />ESTABLISH UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1996-1 <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Staff report and presentation describing the Concept Design Proposal for James <br />Avenue; <br /> <br />MOTION: Approve the Concept Design of James Avenue as presented by staff; <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY <br />DISTRICT NO. 1996-1 <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Staff Report: <br /> <br />Affidavits of mailing and publication are on file in the City Clerk Department. <br /> <br />b) Open public hearing; <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />Hear public comments; <br /> <br />d) Close public hearing; <br /> <br />e) <br /> <br />Council action; <br /> <br />i) <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE: <br /> <br />ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT IN <br />A PORTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; DESIGNATING SAID <br />DISTRICT AS UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1996-1; <br />DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID DISTRICT; ESTABLISHING <br />WHAT UTILITY FACILITIES WILL BE MAINTAINED ABOVE GROUND; <br />AND ESTABLISHING THE TIME BY WHICH POLES AND OVERHEAD <br />WIRES SHALL BE REMOVED AND UNDERGROUND SERVICE <br />PROVIDED; <br /> <br />ii) MOTION: Affirm the policy that the City will pay only the design costs of <br />commercial or multi-family residential service conversions, and no <br />installation costs; <br /> <br />iii) MOTION: Affirm the policy that the City will pay the design and panel <br />conversion costs for single family dwellings and the schools, and that the <br />installation of 100 feet of their underground service connection be covered <br />by Rule 20A Funds; <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />AGENDA <br /> <br />OCTOBER 21,1996 <br />PAGE 4 <br />
