<br />;.' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope suggested reviewing the video that Supervisors Jan Knight <br />. and Mike Blondino have made of other facilities to give the Commission a <br />better idea of what the thinking is. Chairperson Slusser and Commissioner <br />Howard volunteered to be on the sub-committee to work with Jan Knight and <br />Mike Blondino. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - CPRS Conference <br /> <br />Commissioner Davis reported that he enjoyed the CPRS Conference in Long Beach <br />and found it very interesting and valuable. He was especially interested in <br />the financing of new park and recreation projects and attended sessions and <br />collected information on this subject. He took his video camera with him and <br />brought a video tape for review. <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Howard raised the issue of the Fox Theater and asked if the <br />Commission should get involved because of additional groups coming forth on <br />the subject. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness commented on golf classes offered at the Emerald Hills <br />Golf Course, the Vietnam plaque at the Veterans Senior Center, and Jan <br />Knight's report on networking with other facilities. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis mentioned Mike Blondino.s report regarding cancellation <br />of the teen ski trip and suggested letting it die due to the Cityls liability <br />and lack of interest. <br /> <br />-Chairperson Slusser urged the Commissioners to attend the May 4 Study <br />Session with the Youth Services Commission. The meeting will be held at <br />7:00pm in the Library Community Room. <br /> <br />MATTERS OF COMMISSION INTEREST <br /> <br />-Commissioner Dav;s commented on the draft of the Comm;ssioner1s Handbook. <br />He also was concerned about the status of Kiwanis Field due to the fact that <br />Little League did not get to use Woodside and Sequoia High School fields as <br />they were supposed to. Commissioner Howard suggested contacting Councilman <br />Dick Claire regarding this matter. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness gave everyone a copy of a newspaper article from the <br />Times Tribune concerning the IIChallenger Little Leaguell program sponsored by <br />the Highlanders Little League. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Howard noted the San Carlos Park and Recreation Commission will <br />be holding a town meeting on Saturday, March 28 from 9:30-11:30am to <br />discuss park and recreation issues with the community. She also announced <br />a clean-up of Hoover School to be held on April 11 from 8:30-12:00 sponsored <br />by the Pride and Beautification Committee. <br /> <br />-Chairperson Slusser said he received the entry application for the 4th of <br />July parade which is due June 1t 1992. He requested this matter be placed on <br />the April agenda. <br /> <br />
