Mrs. Spangler brought in an article from the San Mateo Times regarding the
use of a piece of the Hetch Hetchy right-of-way to build a playground in the
North Fair Oaks area (counQ). She believes this is a good use of the
property and thinks the Commission should support it.

Nita also mentioned she has been doing research of the people buried at Union
Cemetery and has found that there are 3 Union officers buried there in
addition to several Californios. She said she would like to speak to
Commissioner Swope regarding a recommended course of action at Union
Cemetery. She noted the Archives Comittee is holding $1.500 in funds which
she will try to see returned to the department.

The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was adjourned at
10:30pm to be reconvened at 7:00pm for a Study Session with the City Council
on Monday, May 3.1993 at the Library Community Room. 1044 Middlefield Road.
Redwood City.
