He mentioned that Keith <br />Bautista of DES was unable to attend this meeting but would be available to <br />help design the memorial plaque and prepare blue prints of the proposed area. <br />Commissioner Nordness said he has spoken with representatives of Redwood <br />National and Highlanders Little Leagues about the scheduling of the <br />dedication ceremony. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nordness explained the plaque will be made in casted bronze and <br />will take about 6 weeks to make. He reviewed the sizes and prices of the <br />plaque: <br /> <br />10llX121t $220.00 with 5 lines of type <br />$450.00 with 5 lines of type and a silouette of Gerry <br />1211X1811 $335.00 with 5 lines of type <br />$540.00 with 5 lines of type and a silouette of Gerry <br /> <br />Mary Letzring advised the Commission that there are private funds available <br />through friends. relatives and team members for the memorial. The <br />Commissioners discussed how to get the word out to the community to let <br />people know about the memorial and donating funds. They felt that sending <br />press releases out to all the papers was a good way to let people know about <br />the project. Commissioner Nordness felt the committee will be prepared to <br />make a report at our January 26-meeting and hopes to take it to the City <br />Council for approval February 7. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - Election of Officers <br /> <br />Chairperson Davis said he would meet with Commissioner Slusser as a <br />nominating committee to prepare for the election of officers at our January <br />26 meeting. <br /> <br />Committee Reports/Monthly Reports/Matters of Commission Interest <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness reported that Redwood City International is putting <br />together a display window in the shop across from the Courthouse Coffee Shop <br />on Broadway. He mentioned there will be a tree lighting ceremony at City <br />Hall on Monday, November 29 at 5:45pm. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Howard reported on the Red Morton Center Advisory Committee. <br />She said Mark Schatz made a successful presentation before the Architectural <br />Advisory Committee recently. Superintendent Hartman reported that the <br />approval of the negative declaration on the EIR by the Planning Commission <br />meeting on November 16 was delayed. Several people who live on King Street <br />came to the meeting to oppose the removal of the grassy park area on King <br />Street which will be removed to allow for the parking lot exit from Dickey <br />Street. She said the Planning Commission felt that not enough work was done <br />regarding looking at parking lot alternatives. such as the Myrtle Street <br />parking lot. Architect Mark Schatz and the Cityls Engineering staff will <br />begin working on this matter immediately to come up with some other <br />alternatives and the costs associated with them. Superintendent Hartman said <br />the next Planning Commission meeting will be held on Tuesday. December 14 at <br />7:30pm at the Hall of Justice. 401 Marshall Street. and encouraged all <br />Commissioners to attend. <br /> <br />
