<br />II <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - BUDGET UPDATE <br /> <br />Director Griffiths announced the department lost 'two vacant positions (one <br />custodian, one building maintenance person) in the budget cutting process <br />with the City Manager. Commissioner Howard noted that the I&R budget at <br />the Fair Oaks Community Center is fine this year but is in jeopardy next year <br />due to cuts from San Mateo County. Discussions are being held right now <br />with the County to try and resolve these potential budget cuts. <br /> <br />Director Griffiths advised the Commissioners that the City Council budget <br />sessions have been set for June 28, June 30 and July 7. He told the <br />Commissioners he would notify them when our department will be <br />scheduled in the hearings. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - PACIFIC SHORES CENTER INFORMATION <br /> <br />There was no action at this time on this agenda item. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - REVIEW OF REVISED BROWN ACT <br /> <br />Director Griffiths mentioned if any of the Commissioners have specific <br />questions regarding the new Brown Act, the City Attorney can be contacted <br />for further clarification. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - 4TH OF JULY PARADE UPDATE <br /> <br />Commissioner Slusser said he needed further information on the vehicle the <br />Commission will be riding in the parade to complete the PCA application. <br />Commissioner Howard said she contacted Mr. Mann who provided last year's <br />vehicle and he has indicated it would be available this year. The <br />Commissioners discussed either using Mr. Mann's 1955 Ford Fairlane or a <br />1936 Ford American LaFrance fire truck in the parade. They decided to <br />research the matter further and make the selection of the vehicle depending <br />on the number of people it would carry. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />There were no committee reports. <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Howard commented on Supervisor Hannon's report <br />regarding having to cut potential recreation programs from next year's budget <br />due to funding. She congratulated Supervisor Jan Knight for her diligent <br />work with the Sequoia Gem and Mineral Society to relocate their lapidary <br />shop. She said she enjoyed the informational letter from Anne Munro, a <br /> <br />
