<br />1.) Complete fundraising efforts for the new Red Morton Center. <br />2.) Continue to work on the Community Center/School in Redwood Shores. <br />3.) Create a partnership with various agencies to develop a need assessment <br />for the Redwood City Elementary School District. <br />4.) Participate and contribute to the formation and initiation of the Teen <br />Advisory Committee. <br />5.) Continue to work on various issues such as Union Cemetery, Heritage <br />Trees, Dogs in the Parks. <br /> <br />Director Griffiths mentioned that the community center/school will open in <br />the Fall 1997 /Winter 1998. He stated a group called MOPS (Making Our <br />Project Successful) has developed from the original homeowners committee <br />for the development of the Redwood Shores community center/school. He <br />reported the group of 18 Redwood Shores residents meet monthly and <br />suggested that a representative from the Commission attend their meetings. <br />Commissioner Hughes volunteered to attend the meetings and report back to <br />the Commission. <br /> <br />Chairperson Swope said she will finalize the draft and will send to each of the <br />Commissioners for their review. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS/MONTHL Y REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis said he developed a list of questions to staff for the Fee <br />Policy Structure Committee for the Red Morton Center. He will get a copy of <br />the list of questions to Director Griffiths as the first one was not received. <br /> <br />ANN OUN CEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli said she attended Make- A -Circus held at Red <br />Morton Park on August 8 and mentioned it was lots of fun for the children <br />and well attended by over 2,500 people. <br /> <br />-Director Griffiths announced the CPRS Conference will be' held <br />February 8-11, 1996 in San Diego and that we have budgeted funds for two <br />Commissioners to attend. Early registration is due by September 30, 1995 and <br />he asked who would like to attend. Chairperson Swope and Commissioner <br />Morton both expressed a desire to attend and will confirm their attendance <br />with Secretary Monroe. Commissioner Hughes said she would also like to go <br />but said she would pay her own way. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 9:00pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, September 27, 1995 to be <br />held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />I~ <br />
