They conveyed the Park and
Recreation Commission's feeling that they approved of the general design of
the art work but wanted to have certain details included in the design. The
Cultural Commission did not approve the design at their October meeting
and requested artist Helen Webber to design a new tlcartoon" to include the
various comments and suggestions received from the public. The tapestry
was supposed to be ready for the one year anniversary celebration of the Red
Morton Center in January 1997, but may not be ready due to the revisions and
the artist's other commitments. The Commissioners agreed that they would
defer the one year celebration until the art work is completed. Secretary
Monroe will check with Manager Julie Hannon and advise the
Commissioners if the approval of the Red Morton art work will be on the
Cultural Commission's November agenda.
