Staff is
currently looking at the space between McGarvey and Griffin fields as a possible
site for the skate park. There was discussion about the NFL not upholding their
agreement to use the former PAL building and the need to look at the terms of
their agreement regardless of the outcome of the skate park.

-Adopt-a-Park Program
Superintendent Hover passed out a draft Adopt-a-Park packet for the
Commissioners'review. He noted that five parks have been adopted by eight
different groups and thanked Commissioner Joseph for her efforts to involve the
schools in this program. He explained that the adopt-a-park sign at Stafford Park
is being re-done. Commissioner Davis asked about shirts for program
volunteers and Superintendent Hover said that staff had proposed shirts and
were discussing how many to order. Superintendent Hover said there is also
consideration of adopting particular planters throughout the City as part of the
program. Chairperson Morton also thanked Commissioner Joseph for her work
on this program.

-Stafford Park Opening
There was nothing to report on this matter.

-Hetch Hetchy Clean-Up
Superintendent Hover stated that he intends to invite Kit Davey to the Pride and
Beautification meeting to be held on December 1 to discuss the development of
a clean-up of the Hetch Hetchy right-of-way.

ITEM 6 - SUB-COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION AND ELECTION OF
OFFICERS

Commissioner Truscelli asked that this matter be postponed to the January
meeting due to Commissioner La Berge's absence and the other Commissioners
ag reed.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

-Superintendent Hover noted that the Commissioners were provided with a copy
of a uConf1ict of Interest Laws" brochure for their review.

-Chairperson Morton thanked the Commissioners and the sub-committees for all
their work this year.

The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned at
8:35pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2000 to be
held at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood
City, California
