Discussion regarding holding City Council neighborhood information meeting (continued from 10/11/82) Mayor Stangel said that the item had been placed on the Agenda so that Council could consider the possibility of conducting Council meetings in various neighborhoods for the convenience of citizens there. City Manager Smith observed that it is not suggested that regular City Council meeting would be held in neighborhoods for many reasons, but that neighborhood information and discussion meetings could provide an opportunity for Council members and residents to meet informally. Discussion followed concerning the frequency of such meetings; the possibility of making use of City facilities such as the new fire station and the service center for the meetings; the kinds of subjects which could be discussed; and the probable response of citizens. CONSENSUS: Mayor Stangel determined it to be the consensus of Council that commencing in mjd-January, neighborhood information and discussion meetings will be held monthly by the City Council in various neighborhoods of the City. It was suggested that residents of Cas a de Redwood might enjoy having a meeting there, since many older residents do not care to go out to meetings in the evening.
