Public Hearing - Appeal from the denial of the Zoning <br />Administrator of application for Use Permit to allow <br />an amusement arcade in property located at 26 Central <br />Avenue - Annunziata and Pietro Musso~ Appellants <br /> <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Planning transmitting record <br />11/15/82 <br /> <br />In response to question, Planning Director Schroeter used an overhead <br />projection to illustrate his comments describing the background relating to <br />the subject appeal. <br /> <br />7:43 Mayor Stangel declared open <br /> <br />Affidavits of Publication of Notice of Hearing and of Mailing are on file. <br /> <br />Joseph Svitek~ 108 Murray Court, neighbor of the subject property, stated <br />he is opposed to its use as an amusement arcade~ suggesting such use is <br />incompatible with the generally residential character of the neighborhood <br />and that traffic and parking problems would be created. <br /> <br />Elizabeth Hill, resident of subject neighborhood, said that an amusement <br />arcade is an inappropriate use of the property~ that hours of operation <br />would be too long and that young people using it would create a public <br />nuisance. <br /> <br />Nancy Musso, 26 Central Avenue~ appellant, said that traffic already exists <br />on nearby Woodside Road and that the neighbors have not complained about <br />the bar and restaurant across the street from her property which also may <br />create noise and traffic problems. (An overhead projection was used to <br />indicate the location of the commercial center across the street from the <br />subject property.)
