<br /> <br />. <br /> <br />8 <br />PARK RANGER POSITION <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - STATUS: <br /> <br />Director Griffiths with the assistance of Human Resources Director <br />Jim Irizarry, have nearly completed the meet and confer process with <br />union representatives on the proposed job description for the Park <br />Ranger position. It is expected that recruitment for the position <br />would take place in February or March. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - STATUS: <br /> <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />Plans and specifications for the Red Morton Tennis Court project have <br />been completed by the consultants Singer and Hodges, Inc. The <br />project will be put out to bid in February or March. <br /> <br />The plans and specifications for the Hoover School Lighting project <br />are almost complete. An application is being submitted to the State <br />of California for monies authorized in the Parklands.Bond Act of 1986 <br />in the amount of $157,000. <br /> <br />Plans and specifications are currently prepared by Singer and Hodges, <br />Landscape Architects for the Red Morton Community Park Parking Lot. <br />A 'Colonel Hodgson with the California National Guard in Los Angeles <br />is reviewing the plans with military engineers at their Los Angeles <br />office. <br /> <br />Shorebird Park on Marine Parkway is nearly complete with the final <br />inspection preliminarily scheduled for the latter portion of <br />February. <br /> <br />Park Reports <br /> <br />Parks were reassigned to the Commissioners. <br />sheet for the new park responsibility. <br /> <br />Please see the attached <br /> <br />Marlin Park's appearance has improved significantly since last month. <br />Director Griffiths indicated that it would be his intention to <br />renovate the restroom in the event Marlin Park is combined with the <br />surplus Belmont School District property. Relative to the question <br />of whether doors should be installed, the doors were removed in 1981 <br />due to high vandalism. <br /> <br />NOTE: <br /> <br />Bob Jones will be scheduled for the February meeting. <br /> <br />Red Morton Park - looked reasonably nice. <br /> <br />Laurie Duncan Parkwa~ - the concrete at the base of the drinking <br />fountain is cracked and partially broken away. <br /> <br />Fleishman Park - a few beer bottles around the half full trash can. <br />Otherwise it looked alright. <br />
