The school district neglected to <br />tell Commissioner Nordness that they pulled funding out of our after <br />school sports program. Director Griffiths stated that they used to <br />fund 50% of the program, ($15,000), and now it creates a really big <br />problem for the Park and Recreation Department. <br /> <br />Upon being questioned, Director Griffiths stated that there was no <br />recruiting for the position of Park Ranger because it is tied up in <br />union negotiations. A contractual group known as California Land <br />Management is sending in a proposal to provide ranger services for a <br />20, 30 and 40 hour ranger. They provide services to various <br />surrounding cities and the Forest and Park Services. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mortensen asked if any of the Commissioners knew of <br />anyone qualified to serve on this Commission as there is an opening <br />that has been advertised with a deadline of February 22,1987. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:30 p.m. to reconvene on <br />March 11,1987 at 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />/sn <br /> <br />
