DAL: df* 7/10/92 (037/31) <br /> ORIGINAL 7/20/92 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N N O. 11795 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION FOR "LOCAL <br /> CERTIFIED GOVERNMENT STATUS" UNDER THE NATIONAL <br /> HISTORIC GRANTS-IN-AID PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS , the United States Congress , under Public Law <br /> 89-865 , authorized the establishment of a National Historic <br /> Preservation Grants-in-Aid Program providing matching funds to <br /> the State of California and its eligible subdivisions for <br /> historic preservation, survey, registration, and planning; and <br /> WHEREAS , the State Department of Parks and Recreation is <br /> responsible for the administration of the program within the <br /> state and for implementing necessary rules and procedures <br /> governing applications under the program; and <br /> WHEREAS , said procedures established by the State Department <br /> of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by <br /> resolution the approval of applications and the availability of <br /> local matching funds prior to submission of said application to <br /> the State; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY as <br /> follows : <br /> 1 . The Director of Planning is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to file an application for "Local Certified Government <br /> Status" under the National Historic Preservation Grants-in-Aid <br /> Program for and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> 2 . The Planning Director and his authorized deputy are <br /> hereby appointed as agents of the City to coordinate and process <br /> all contracts , amendments thereto , and ancillary documents within <br />
