ATTACHMENT "A"
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECTS
1. DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Water Pipeline Replacement Program - The Water Supply and Distribution
Division of the General Services Department estimated in 1990, that
approximately 95,000 feet of water line should be replaced. The rate study
adopted by the City Council provides for a 10-year implementation proyram of
$999,000 per year through fiscal year 1999/2000.
2. STORAGE
Abandon Brewster Reservoir - By connecting the 16--inch water supply pipelines
between the Sequoia and Brewster reservoirs directly to the water pipeline in
Brewster Street, the Brewster Reservoir can be abandoned.
Abandon Vista-Oakview Reservoir and Pump Station - By installing approximately
1,000 feet of 8-inch main and a pressure reducing valve ($52,000) , this tank
and pump station can be eliminated.
California Reservoir Abandonment - A pressure reducing valve will modulate
flows from adjacent pressure zones and allow abandonment of this reservoir.
3. PUMPING & CONTROLS
Eliminate Bennett Booster Station - A pipeline extension from the interecLion
of Oak Knoll and Hillcrest, northerly on Hillcrest to the Bennett Booster
Station outlet pipeline, would connect the area now being served by the
Bennett Booster Station to the Oakview-Vista Pressure Zone which has a Static
Hydraulic Grade Line of 321 feet. The new pipeline would allow the
abandonment of an old 2-inch galvanized pipeline along the route of the new
pipeline.
Wilmington Pressure Reducing Valve - Will provide a second supply to Emerald
Lake Hills "Highline" and Canada College.
