-5- <br /> Housing/Economic Development Specialist II <br /> In addition to the qualifications for Housing/Economic development Specialist I: <br /> Knowledge of: <br /> Principles of real estate valuations and appraisal techniques. <br /> Principles and techniques of building construction and rehabilitation. <br /> Local real estate land use, building and zoning codes. <br /> Computer systems in relation to work functions. <br /> Current federal , state and local programs. <br /> Business retention and attraction methods. <br /> Ability to: <br /> Negotiate contracts and agreements. <br /> Perform housing, economic development, or redevelopment work with a minimum of <br /> supervision. <br /> Perform targeted business analysis for business retention and attraction <br /> studies. <br /> Analyse financial statements. <br /> Prepare and analyse pro formas. <br /> Physical Characteristics: <br /> Must be able to work outside in varying climatic conditions and be in <br /> sufficiently good health to perform job duties. <br /> Experience and Training Guidelines <br /> Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the <br /> required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br /> knowledge and abilities would be: , <br /> Experience: <br /> Two years of progressively responsible housing economic development or <br /> redevelopment experience comparable to that of a Housing/Economic <br /> Development Specialist I with the City of Redwood City. <br /> Training: <br /> Equivalent to Bachelor' s degree from an accredited college or university <br /> with major coursework in business, finance planning, public administration, <br /> or a related field. <br />
