<br />DES:djk 1-:1./14/90 (038/28) <br />DES:dft /19/90R <br /> <br />C F :': GIN A L <br /> <br />11/19/90 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. 11450 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING CHILD CARE POLICY FOR <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the need for safe, healthful and adequate care for <br /> <br />children of working parents or single working parents, or who <br /> <br />otherwise are deprived of daytime care as a result of social and <br /> <br />economic conditions, has long been a matter grave concern to this <br /> <br />Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this City has a long history of active involvement <br /> <br />in matters concerning child care, <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />specifically, <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />supporting and providing child care services for the community; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council heretofore authorized and directed <br />preparation of a child care policy for the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said direction, hearings on a draft <br /> <br />child care policy were held by the Housing and Human Concerns <br /> <br />Committee and presentations pertaining thereto have been made to <br /> <br />the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Board of Trustees of the <br /> <br />Redwood City Elementary School District, the Civic Liaison <br /> <br />Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, and to numerous other <br /> <br />community organizations and persons interested in child care <br /> <br />matters; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the aforesaid public participation, <br /> <br />the draft child care policy was amended and revised; and <br />
