She stated she promotes a natural <br />setting for parks. <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope stated that during the renovation process of Stafford <br />Park, staff took into consideration the comments and suggestions of the <br />neighbors, and she felt that the Commission should again consider the <br />comments of the neighbors and not approve the installation of additional <br />BBQs in Stafford Park. <br /> <br />The Commissioners discussed the reasons for installing the BBQs, the need to <br />provide services to the community, and deferring the installation until the <br />renovations of the other parks is completed. <br /> <br />MIS Truscelli/LaBerge: To defer putting in three BBQs at Stafford <br />Park until a later date. <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope spoke in favor of listening to the requests of the <br />neighbors and noted that when the park was planned, the neighbors did not <br />ask for BBQs to be included in the renovation plans. Chairperson Davis felt <br />that small BBQs yield small parties and that by eliminating BBQs, we are <br />limiting an enjoyable activity for the community. <br /> <br />Motion passed. <br />(Yes-S Joseph, LaBerge, Morton, Truscelli, Walsh; No-2 Davis, Swope) <br /> <br />The Commissioners noted that the neighbors will be advised if this matter <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />comes up again. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - UPDATE ON TREES IN REDWOOD SHORES <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover spoke about the planned removal of infested trees at <br />504 Cringle Drive on October 10, 2000 which will be followed by stump <br />removal and re-planting of new trees by the end of October. He also spoke <br />about visiting Mr. Vedder at 485 Tiller Lane about the removal of his infested <br />trees and stated that the trees will not be removed at this time. <br /> <br />. - <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Superintendent Mann spoke about the status of the wasp release program <br />and problems that have occurred in the generation of the wasp. He said that <br />we are expecting the wasp to be released in Redwood City in approximately <br />20 to 30 days, and that it will take 90 days after the release to see some <br />results.
