Superintendent Hover <br />noted that this project could fall under CEQA (California Environmental <br />Quality Act) and that a design is needed before it can be determined what <br />type of an impact this project will have on the community. The <br />Commissioners spoke in support of replacing any trees which need to be <br />removed. <br /> <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Meeting was recessed at 8:39pm and called back to order at 8:43pm. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - 4TH OF JULY FLOAT <br /> <br />Commissioner Walsh spoke about the plans for the 4th of July float and <br />working with members of the community. The theme for the float will be <br />"Skate into the Future with Park and Recreation". Commissioner Walsh <br />suggested handing out paper skateboards for students to color which would <br />then become part of the float design. <br /> <br />ITEM 4- UPDATES <br /> <br />-School Fields <br />Superintendent Hover announced that Taft Field was re-opened on May 22 <br />and the opening ceremonies were well attended. <br /> <br />-Spinas Park <br />Superintendent Hover stated the project is in the design phase with MIG, Inc. <br />and will be brought back to the Commission for review. <br /> <br />-Strateg ic Pia n <br />Superintendent Hover announced Director Centeno made a presentation to <br />the Redwood City Optimist Club recently and received ten public input forms <br />from the group. The committee will be meeting tomorrow night at the CAB <br />at 6:00pm. <br /> <br />-Windmill Project <br />Chairperson Joseph announced the committee met this evening before the <br />Commission meeting. She said an article appeared in the newspaper about <br />the project and John Anagnostou has agreed to donate Forester's Hall for a <br />fundraising event to be held on Friday, August 3. The committee is <br />developing a website, sending letters to the community, and will have a <br />booth at the 4th of July festival. The next meeting will be held in two weeks <br />and the committee has targeted December at the completion date for the <br />project. <br /> <br /> <br />
