He felt if the Commission gets involved in every good idea that they <br />receive, then the Commission is not have the time to work on important <br />issues such as increasing the City/s park acreage. <br /> <br />Commissioner Walsh felt that the Pet Parade was a similar type of <br />Commission project as the Windmill Restoration. Commissioner Morton <br />supported the concept of the Pet Parade if staff can help support it. <br />Chairperson Joseph confirmed that the date of the Pet Parade will be <br />Saturday, AprilS, 2003. <br /> <br />-Windmill Restoration <br />Chairperson Joseph spoke to Susan Moller about including the windmill in the <br />Downtown Plan. She agreed to speak to the Historic Resources Advisory <br />Committee for their support of this project. Commissioner Davis felt we need <br />to find an independent group to handle the Windmill project. <br /> <br />-Nominating Committee Appointment <br />Chairperson Joseph and Commissioner Davis will participate on the <br />nominating committee and will bring their nominations to the November <br />meeting for election of officers. <br /> <br />-Commission Suggestions for Future Speakers <br />Chairperson Joseph asked the Commissioners to think about future speakers <br />for the Commission meetings and bring their ideas to the Study Session. <br />She reminded the Commissioners to e-mail her with their top three goals <br />prior to the Study Session. <br /> <br />ITEM 7 - UPDATES <br /> <br />-Hoover Field Grand Opening <br />Superintendent Hover reported on the successful grand opening of Hoover <br />field and noted that staff has received positive comments from the <br />community on the new field. He mentioned that staff will be looking at a <br />field usage policy and ways to minimize damage to our fields during the rainy <br />season. <br /> <br />-Skate Park <br />Superintendent Beth reported the project is 40% complete and should be <br />done by the end of December. He has not received any calls from neighbors <br />about the project. <br />
