She thinks that means that the Co'mmission can sponsor this event and wants it to continue. Commissioner Davis felt the Commission should not be not be staffing events. He felt if the Commission gets involved in every good idea that they receive, then the Commission is not have the time to work on important issues such as increasing the City/s park acreage. Commissioner Walsh felt that the Pet Parade was a similar type of Commission project as the Windmill Restoration. Commissioner Morton supported the concept of the Pet Parade if staff can help support it. Chairperson Joseph confirmed that the date of the Pet Parade will be Saturday, AprilS, 2003. -Windmill Restoration Chairperson Joseph spoke to Susan Moller about including the windmill in the Downtown Plan. She agreed to speak to the Historic Resources Advisory Committee for their support of this project. Commissioner Davis felt we need to find an independent group to handle the Windmill project. -Nominating Committee Appointment Chairperson Joseph and Commissioner Davis will participate on the nominating committee and will bring their nominations to the November meeting for election of officers. -Commission Suggestions for Future Speakers Chairperson Joseph asked the Commissioners to think about future speakers for the Commission meetings and bring their ideas to the Study Session. She reminded the Commissioners to e-mail her with their top three goals prior to the Study Session. ITEM 7 - UPDATES -Hoover Field Grand Opening Superintendent Hover reported on the successful grand opening of Hoover field and noted that staff has received positive comments from the community on the new field. He mentioned that staff will be looking at a field usage policy and ways to minimize damage to our fields during the rainy season. -Skate Park Superintendent Beth reported the project is 40% complete and should be done by the end of December. He has not received any calls from neighbors about the project.
