Superintendent Hover said he hopes to make the same <br />presentation to the Redwood Shores Community Organization. <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover spoke about the City of Fremont's solution to their <br />goose issue. Commissioner Joseph felt it is a community problem which is <br />becoming a political issue. Chairperson Walsh asked if this matter was in our <br />jurisdiction and Superintendent Hover stated that our staff currently has to <br />clean many areas where goose droppings are a problem. He felt that the <br />Redwood Shores community needs to tell us how they want us to deal with <br />the problem. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - STAFF UPDATES <br /> <br />-Spinas Park . <br />Superintendent Hover reported that the park construction is approximately <br />two weeks behind and the estimated completion date is mid-December. <br /> <br />-Skate Park <br />Commissioner Truscelli reported she attended the September 10 meeting of <br />the Skate Park Task Force. She stated that there are less complaints being <br />received on the skate park, skateboard classes are now being offered at the <br />site which has been well received by parents, the number of bikes have <br />decreased, and a skateboard demonstration is being organized. The <br />emergency phone will be installed very soon and Superintendent Beth is <br />working with various non-profit groups to take on snack shack <br />responsibilities. Superintendent Hover stated he was interviewed recently by <br />. the Redwood City Daily regarding our skate park. <br /> <br />.. Fa i r Oa ks School Field <br />Superintendent Hover said the project is currently out to bid and bids are due <br />on October 8 with award by the Council on October 13. He is currently <br />working on agreement with the County and School District for this project. <br />Funding for the project will be provided from the following sources: San <br />Mateo County $300,000, Redwood City School District $289,000, and City of <br />Redwood City $625,000 which will enable a synthetic field to be installed as <br />part of the project. Phase II of the project will include lighting for the field. <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reported he spoke to the North Fair Oaks <br />Neighborhood Associati.on regarding the project and anticipated lighting of <br />the field. He noted that the management company of the adjacent <br />apartment complex and the North Fair Oaks Neighborhood Association <br />appear to be in support of the project. Additional sidewalks along the two <br />streets adjacent to the field will be constructed by the County after the <br />project is complete as part of the Safe Routes to School Program. <br /> <br />-Redwood Shores Lagoons <br />Commissioners Joseph and Swope will be attending the October 8 meeting of <br />the Lagoon Committee. . <br /> <br />"'--- <br /> <br />
