Commissioner White requested that the Executive Summary be placed on the website and a press release be developed. This will be accomplished after presentation to City Council. Director Centeno will develop a draft cover letter for the groups that will receive the executive summary for Chairperson Yapp. ITEM 3 - Suggested Locations for Partnering with Pride and Beautification Committee Commissioner White reported that members of the Pride and Beautification Committee would meet with Park staff to visit various park sites and based on the results determine where various teams would be assigned on October 2, 2004. One of the suggested tasks was the deep cleaning of some playground equ ipment. . ITEM 4. - Updates Windmill " Superintendent Hover reported on his discussion with Mitch Postel of the San Mateo County Historical Association regarding the agreement for restoration of the Windmill that will go before the Historical Association Board on 10/26/04. The Association would receive $30,000 from the City and in exchange for completing the restoration and installation of the windmill. Various sites were suggested including near the Community Activities Building, behind the Courthouse, near Orchard Supply and near the entrance to the Historic Union Cemetery. Director Centeno pointed out that the agreement leaves ownership with the City and as such we would be responsible for ongoing maintenance. Superintendent Hover noted that the Historical Association is just finishing its fund raising to renovate the museum, so it is an appropriate time for this project to come to the Board. Picnic Reservations Superintendent Beth reported that approximately 30 reservations have been made bringing in about $1,600. The reservation process has been advertised on the City website, banners at parks involved, as well as in the department brochure. Commissioner Swope requested that follow-up survey information be collected. Courthouse Plaza Project Superintendent Hover reported on a meeting held with officials from Public Works Services, Community Development Services and our staff to identify important issues related to this project. Superintendent Hover will arrange for a presentation by the Redevelopment Manager on the Plaza at a future meeting.
