<br />Park and Recreation Commîssion <br />Minutes of August 24, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />project will go out to bid in September and should be completed by March <br />2006. . <br /> <br />-Sub-Committee Report on Art and Wine Festival <br />Commissioner Joseph spoke about her progress on arranging artists for the <br />proposed event. Director Centeno noted the July minutes indicate that the <br />sub-committee was going to meet and define the Commission's role in the. <br />project. The sub-committee consists of Commissioners Joseph, Slusser and <br />White, with Commissioner Swope as alternate. Commissioner Slusser stated <br />that the sub-committee still needs to meet to discuss the scope of the <br />Commission's role in this project. A report from the sub-committee will be <br />presented at the September meeting. <br /> <br />-Parks for the Future <br />Director Centeno announced that a bill is in the State Assembly which would <br />allow San Mateo County to place a one-eighth of a cent tax for park <br />improvements on a future ballot. <br /> <br />-Community Garden <br />Superintendent Hover said the permit for the Johnson Street property is <br />currently at the San Francisco City Attorney's Office. <br /> <br />-Park Tour, August 13 . <br />Superintendent Hover reviewed the park tour of Spinas, Hoover and Red <br />Morton p~rks. Commissioner Joseph said that several issues were brought <br />up on the park tour and that feedback was needed from staff. A memo will <br />be developed to address these issues and will be included in the next packet. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - REVIEW OF COMMISSION CALENDAR <br /> <br />-Dates of particular City events will be added to calendar when available. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Joseph announced she will be having surgery and will not be <br />at the September meeting. .. <br />-Gary Bonte of Planning Division spoke about working on the City's General <br />Plan including updating the Open Space and Land Use Element. The <br />Commissioners. indicated their interest in participating on the review of those <br />elements. <br />-Vice Chairperson Morton announced he will be starting the next PACT <br />Program beginning on August 31. The meetings are normally held on <br />Wednesdays and might conflict with a future Commission meeting. <br />-The next meeting of the Precise Plan will be held on September 29. <br />-Director Centeno stated that an article written by Chris Beth featuring our <br />department's "PACT for Kids" is in the latest CPRS Magazine. <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />. <br />¡. <br />~; , <br />~. . <br />¡; <br /> <br />.:.. <br /> <br />~.. <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />. . <br />
