<br />" (d) <br /> <br />"(e) <br /> <br />"(f) <br /> <br />" (g) <br /> <br />" (h) <br /> <br />"(i) <br /> <br />SECTION 4. <br /> <br />its adoption. <br /> <br />file a notice of such adjustments with the City <br />Clerk and all subscribers, setting forth the <br />rates or charges then in effect, the proposed <br />rates or charges and the dates upon which said <br />proposed rates or charges are to become effective. <br /> <br />Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (c), <br />above, the City Council may enact regulations <br />regulating the setting of subscriber rates or <br />charges and the making of adjustments thereto. <br />In the event the Public utilities Commission of <br />the State of California or the Federal Communications <br />Commission establishes jurisdiction over the rates <br />of the grantee, then the authority of the City to <br />regulate rates and charges shall cease. <br /> <br />The grantee shall pay to the City a sum of money <br />sufficient to reimburse it for expense incurred by <br />it in publishing legal notice and ordinances in <br />connection with the granting of a franchise pursuant <br />to the provisions of this article; such payment to <br />be made within thirty days after the City shall <br />furnish such grantee with a written statement of <br />such expense. <br /> <br />The grantee shall maintain an office in close <br />enough proximity to the City of Redwood City so <br />that CATV maintenance service shall be promptly <br />available to subscribers upon telephone request <br />during grantee's normal business hours; such maintenance <br />service shall be available on a standby basis by <br />grantee outside its normal business hours. <br /> <br />The grantee shall not engage in the business of <br />selling television or other receivers which make <br />use of signals transmitted by its system, nor shall <br />the grantee engage in the repair of such receivers <br />or the sale of parts for the same. <br /> <br />All picture signals carried by the CATV system shall <br />be delivered to the subscribers' sets at no less a <br />quality than was received originally by the CATV <br />system. There shall be no degradation of any picture <br />signal received by the CATV system. <br /> <br />One connection to the system shall be furnished <br />free of charge in each public school in the area <br />covered by the CATV franchise, if cables and wires <br />are available in the immediate area, and the school <br />pays the cost of connection to such cables or wires. <br />The City Council may require similar free service <br />to hospitals, fire stations or other similar <br />facilities operated by a public or quasi-public <br />agency." <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />-3- <br />
