SECTION 2. The provisions of Ordinance No. 1336, entitled "An Ordinance Adding Article III (Commencing with Section 32.40) to Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Redwood City Relating to the Imposition of a Documentary Stamp Tax on the Sale of Real Property," adopted November 20, 1967, shall be, and the same are hereby, suspended on and after the effective date hereof, and shall remain suspended and thereafter be of no force and effect so long as the provisions of this ordinance are effective and operative; provided, however, that in the event the provisions of this ordinance are for any reason declared invalid, then and in that event said provisions of said Ordinance No. 1336 shall not be deemed to have been suspended but shall be deemed to have been in full force and effect continuously on and after the effective date of this ordinance. Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed as relieving any person of the obligation to pay to the City of Redwood City any tax accrued and owing to said City under the provisions of said Ordinance No. 1336 and the provisions of Article III of Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Redwood City as enacted by said Ordinance No. 1336, in force and effect prior to the effective date of this ordinance. SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance, or any provision of Article III of Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Redwood City as amended by this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstances, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this ordinance or said article which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance and said article are declared to be severable. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days from the date of its adoption. SECTION 5. Upon its adoption, the City Clerk shall file two -9- -- ""-^"-'^.^--"
