From the City Manager <br /> <br />July 15, 2002 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Agreement for Professional Consultant Engineering and Design Services for the <br />Redwood Shores Lagoon Intake Facility II Replacement Project. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Approve an agreement with BKF Engineers of Redwood City, California, for providing <br />consultant engineering and design services for the Redwood Shores Lagoon Intake <br />Facility II Replacement Project, in an amount not to exceed $46,500. <br /> <br />Background <br />The Lagoon Intake Facility II is located near the intersection of Marine Parkway and <br />Shearwater Parkway. This facility is one of the two intake structures designed for <br />conveying Bay water from the Belmont Slough into the interior lagoon of Redwood <br />Shores. The water will then discharge back to the Bay by discharge facilities located at <br />different locations. <br /> <br />The purpose of this project is to replace the existing deteriorated and outdated intake <br />structure; install a third 54" intake pipe; connect a new 54" intake pipe to the <br />Shearwater Parkway storm drainage system, and create new flushing points along <br />Shearwater Parkway. <br /> <br />The key scope of the professional services includes: > Topographic Survey <br /> > Geotechnical Assessment <br /> > Wetland Assessment <br /> > Prepare Construction Documents <br /> > Permitting Assistance <br /> <br />A complete copy of the agreement is available for review in the City Clerk's office. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funds in the amount of $417,000 appropriated in the FY 2_001-2002 Capital <br />Improvement Program budget, GID 1-64 funds, for these services. <br /> <br />Chu Chang "' '~' B~uce Lie'dstrand E}J Everett <br />Senior Civil Engineer Community Development Services Director City Manager <br /> <br />S/~ibra~/reportsYchu_consultant_RWS Lagoon Intake Facility <br /> <br /> <br />
