STAFF REPORTS <br /> <br />Wayfinding and Directional <br />Redevelopment Agency <br /> <br />Signage <br /> <br />Program - <br /> <br />City Council and <br /> <br />Redevelopment Manager Moeller introduced the report on how to find your way <br />into and around downtown Redwood City. <br /> <br />Tom Richman, of Catalyst Design, explained the design program concept. <br /> <br />Mark McDougall and Deb Shea, of Hellbent Marketing, and Analyst Claudia <br />Olalla gave portions of the report on the logo and signage. <br /> <br />Public Comment: <br />Bruce Codding stated that he has been involved with branding and marketing in <br />his business and his opinion is that the consultants have done a great job. He <br />reminded Council that although the colors are a bit shocking, they will not be <br />murals on the side of a building but relatively small. He stated that looking at the <br />pedestrian signs, the big feature of the logo disappears with the contrasting <br />colors moving away. He further expressed his hope that the next rendition will <br />show that the signs will not be huge and glaring. He further expressed that the <br />idea of the courthouse and stained glass could be used in an avant garde <br />fashion but to consider colors that stand up under weather conditions. <br /> <br />Janet Borgens agreed that we want people to come into town to be entertained, <br />shop, visit and know that it is alive and exciting.
