<br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />'YE- / <br />I <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />October 19, 2005 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Honorable Vice Mayor Barbara Pierce, Honorable Council Members Alicia <br />Aguirre, Ian Bain, Rosanne Foust, Jim Hartnett, and Diane Howard <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br /> <br />Jeff Ira, Mayor <br /> <br />g-- <br /> <br />Committee <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Subject Parkin <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Motion by Council to grant the Mayor the authority to appoint the Parking Advisory <br />Committee <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />During the approval process of the retail/cinema project, the City Council approved a <br />"Parking Facilities Agreement" That agreement called for the appointment of a "Parking <br />Advisory Committee." (PAC). The agreement was approved by the Council and it is now <br />time to appoint that committee. The purpose of this committee as stated in the agreement <br />is the following: "The PAC shall advise the City Council of Redwood City on downtown <br />parking issues including:" <br /> <br />1. Downtown parking standards, <br /> <br />2. Standards, criteria and findings needed for allowing variances and other exceptions <br />to general downtown parking standards; and <br /> <br />3. Other issues as determined by the City. <br /> <br />The agreement states that the PAC will consist of seven members comprised of the <br />following which are required: (1) City, (1) Developer, (1) Century, (1) Fox Theatre, (1) <br />Downtown Business Group or property owner. In order to fill the commitment to create <br />such a committee, I suggest the following: <br /> <br />1. City Representative: Dan Zack <br /> <br />2. Developer Representative: To be appointed by the developer <br /> <br />3. Century Representative: To be appointed by Century <br /> <br />4. Fox Theatre Representative: To be appointed by Fox Theatre <br />
