EXHIBIT E <br />Scope of Work <br />to be Provided by Redwood City 2020's Safe Routes to School Initiative <br />January 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 <br />GOALS: <br />1. Increase Knowledge <br />Activities <br />a) Invite schools to host educational programming in school and after school <br />programs <br />b) Contract with vendors to provide relevant programming <br />c) Provide and support educational programs for students and families <br />d) Offer safety education workshops for parents/adult family members <br />2. Build Volunteer Capacitv <br />Activities <br />a) Outreach to students' families to build and continue partnerships and <br />encourage participation in SRTS programming <br />b) Facilitate family volunteer trainings for walking school buses and other <br />SRTS activities <br />c) Define assistance for schools and recruit/train family volunteers <br />d) Provide materials and supplies for SRTS programming as well as <br />incentives for encouragement <br />e) Maintain an open line of communication with families, students, school <br />staff, RCSD and community partners <br />f) Conduct student volunteer trainings for Student Valet program for long <br />term program sustainability <br />3. Encouraqe options for student/familv knowledqe about ohvsical activitv <br />Activities <br />a) Encourage participation in International Walk to School Day and Bike to <br />School Day <br />b) Provide appropriate incentives to students to participate in both large and <br />small events <br />c) Publicize the success of programs on the Redwood City 2020 website, <br />electronic communication with partners, RCSD website, City of Redwood <br />City communications, and on school campuses <br />d) Educate students and families about the health-related benefits of <br />increased physical activity <br />T")AW218.011/San Mateo County Office of Education <br />
