OERP Page 9 <br /> <br /> 6.2 CITY STAFF OBSERVATION <br /> <br />City staff conducts periodic inspections of its sewer system facilities as part of their routine activities. <br />Any problems noted with the sewer system facilities are reported to appropriate City staff that, in turn, <br />responds to emergency situations. Work orders are issued to correct non-emergency conditions. <br /> <br /> <br /> 6.3 CONTRACTOR OBSERVATION <br /> <br />The following procedures are to be followed in the event that a contractor causes or witnesses a <br />Sanitary Sewer Overflow. If the contractor causes or witnesses an SSO they should: <br />1. Immediately notify the City. <br />2. Protect storm drains. <br />3. Protect the public. <br />4. Provide information to the City Maintenance Crew such as start time, appearance point(s), <br />suspected cause, weather conditions, etc. <br />5. Direct ALL media and public relations requests to the Public Information Officer, Assistant <br />Public Works Director and/or Public Works Superintendent. <br />Appendix C includes a handout for Contractors with a flowchart of the above procedures. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6.2.A. - Page 103
