<br />REV: 03-16-18 MI <br />ATTY/AGR/2018.054/RECOLOGY OF SAN MATEO <br />Page 23 of 119 <br />Contractor shall make accommodations and provide Collection service for Customers 844 <br />who are unable to cut trees into lengths of eight feet (8’) or less at no additional cost 845 <br />to the Customer and shall not bill Agency for such services. 846 <br />Prior to December of each year, Contractor shall notify all Multi-Family Dwelling 847 <br />Customers of this program and explain the limitations to the program, the dates of 848 <br />service, and any materials preparation or participation requirements, including the 849 <br />option to order a Bin or Drop Box, or Collect the trees loose from designated 850 <br />Collection locations. To encourage participation in this program, Contractor shall not 851 <br />charge Customers an additional fee for this service. 852 <br />5.05 RESIDENTIAL ON-CALL BULKY ITEM COLLECTION SERVICE 853 <br />A. SFD General. Contractor shall provide two (2) separate On-Call Curbside Bulky Item 854 <br />Collection Service events to each Single-Family Dwelling Residential Premise 855 <br />annually upon Owner’s or Occupant’s request at no cost to the Customer. Customer 856 <br />may request additional Bulky Item Collection service events; and, Contractor shall bill 857 <br />for the additional service at Agency-approved Charges in Attachment Q. Contractor 858 <br />shall schedule the On-Call Bulky Item Collection Service events on the regularly 859 <br />scheduled Solid Waste Collection Day for Single-Family Dwellings, no more than ten 860 <br />(10) Business Days after the Owner’s or Occupant’s request subject to the conditions 861 <br />specified in Section 5.05.H. 862 <br />B. MFD General. Contractor shall provide two (2) separate On-Call Curbside Bulky Item 863 <br />Collection Service events to each Multi-Family Residential Complex annually upon 864 <br />Owner’s or property manager’s request at no cost to the Owner or property manager. 865 <br />Owner or property manager may request additional Bulky Item Collection service 866 <br />events; and, Contractor shall bill for the additional service at Agency-approved 867 <br />Charges specified in Attachment Q. Contractor shall schedule On-Call Curbside 868 <br />Bulky Item Collection Service events no more than ten (10) Business Days after the 869 <br />Multi-Family Residential Complex Owner’s or property manager’s request subject to 870 <br />the conditions specified in Section 5.05.H. Contractor will be required to 871 <br />accommodate the Multi-Family Residential Complex’s on-site constraints to ensure 872 <br />convenient and safe collection events in an effort to maximize diversion and minimize 873 <br />environmental impacts. 874 <br />Contractor shall assist Owners and property managers of Multi-Family Residential 875 <br />Complexes with scheduling events to effectively and efficiently provide the volume of 876 <br />Collection service to which the complex is entitled annually based on the number of 877 <br />Residential Premises at the complex. The provision of On-Call Collection of Bulky 878 <br />Items is not intended to encourage or permit Multi-Family Residential Premises to 879 <br />reduce the level of regularly scheduled Solid Waste Collection service that has been 880 <br />previously provided to the complex. If Contractor, in its reasonable business 881 <br />judgment, concludes that an Owner or property manager of a Multi-Family Residential 882 <br />Complex is requesting On-Call Bulky Item Collection in order to reduce its historical 883 <br />level of regular Solid Waste Collection service, Contractor may present a factual 884 <br />report to Agency in support of an application to decline further requests for On-Call 885 <br />Bulky Item Collection events at that complex for the remainder of the calendar year. 886 <br />Within thirty (30) Days, Agency will review the application and report and determine 887 <br />whether Contractor may decline all subsequent requests from that complex for that 888 <br />6.2.B. - Page 36
