<br />REV: 03-16-18 MI <br />ATTY/AGR/2018.054/RECOLOGY OF SAN MATEO ATTACHMENT A <br />Page 17 of 18 <br />State <br />“State” means the State of California. <br />Subcontractor <br />“Subcontractor” means a Person which has entered into a contract with the Contractor for the <br />performance of work that is necessary for the Contractor’s fulfillment of its obligations under this <br />Agreement. <br />Targeted Recyclable Materials <br />“Targeted Recyclable Materials” means a subset of Recyclable Materials that includes: <br />newspaper (including inserts, coupons, and store advertisements); mixed paper (including office <br />paper, computer paper, magazines, junk mail, catalogs, brown paper bags, paperboard, paper <br />egg cartons, telephone books, books, colored paper, construction paper, envelopes, legal pad <br />backings, shoe boxes, cereal and other similar food boxes); chipboard; corrugated cardboard; <br />paper milk cartons; glass containers of any color (including brown, blue, clear, and green); <br />aluminum (including food and beverage containers, foil, small pieces of scrap metal); small pieces <br />of scrap metal weighing less than ten (10) pounds and fitting into the Targeted Recyclable <br />Materials Collection Container (excluding chain, cable, wire, banding, hand tools, and automotive <br />parts); steel, tin or bi-metal containers; plastic containers (i.e., all plastic containers stamped with <br />the Society for the Plastics Industry (SPI) code #1 through #7; and plastic containers that are not <br />stamped but clearly can be identified as PET, HDPE, polypropylene). The list of “Targeted <br />Recyclable Materials” may be modified as technology or commodity markets change during the <br />term of the Agreement. Modifications to the list of “Targeted Recyclable Materials” shall be subject <br />to mutual agreement between the SBWMA, Agency, and Contractor. <br />Term <br />“Term” shall have the meaning ascribed to it Section 3.02. <br />Ton (or Tonnage) <br />“Ton (or Tonnage)” means a unit of measure for weight equivalent to 2,000 pounds where each <br />pound contains 16 ounces. <br />Transfer Station <br />“Transfer Station” means a Facility primarily used for the purpose of transferring Solid Waste from <br />Collection vehicles to transfer vehicles (but which may include recovery operations) to more <br />efficiently transport Solid Waste to the Disposal Site. For the purposes of this Agreement, Agency <br />has designated the Shoreway Recycling and Disposal Center, located at 225 and 333 Shoreway <br />Road, San Carlos, CA, as its designated Transfer Station. <br />Spills of Discarded Materials <br />“Spills of Discarded Materials” means any Solid Waste, Targeted Recyclable Materials, or Organic <br />Materials spilled or left at established Collection sites by Contractor after Collection, other than <br />small particles of grass clippings and leaves of the size and volume that may be collected by <br />regular street sweeping operations which may be left behind. <br />6.2.B. - Page 149
