ATT ACHMENT K <br />CONTRACTOR’S COMPENSATION AND RATE SETTING PROCESS <br />REV: 03-16-18 MI <br />ATTY/AGR/2018.054/RECOLOGY OF SAN MATEO ATTACHMENT K <br />Page 5 of 24 <br />E. “CPI-W-Medical” means the Consumer Price Index, Urban Wage Earners and Clerical <br />Workers, Medical Care, compiled and published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau <br />of Labor Statistics or its successor agency, using the following parameters. <br /> <br />CPI-W-Medical Parameters: <br /> Area – San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose Metropolitan Area <br /> Item – Medical Care <br /> Base Period – Current 1982-84=100 <br /> Not seasonally adjusted <br /> Periodicity – Bi-monthly <br />Series ID – CWURA422SAM <br /> <br />F. “Compensation Adjustment Factor” means the amount of change in the Contractor’s <br />Compensation for the then-current Rate Year compared to the coming Rate Year. <br /> <br />G. “Potential Cap Carry Forward” means the amount of Member Agency’s share of <br />Contractor’s Compensation for the coming Rate Year that Member Agency may elect to <br />defer (carry forward) to the subsequent Rate Year, which is calculated as provided in <br />Section 5. <br /> <br />H. “Cap Carry Forward” means the amount that Member Agency actually elects to defer (carry <br />forward) from the coming Rate Year to the subsequent Rate Year pursuant to Section 5, <br />which shall be included in Member Agency’s share of Contractor’s Compensation as an <br />adjustment for such subsequent Rate Year. <br /> <br />I. “Direct Cost” means those costs directly attributable to the provision of Collection services <br />including, but not limited to, costs for Collection vehicle personnel and related benefits, <br />payroll taxes, and workers compensation insurance; Collection vehicle fuel; and other direct <br />costs. <br /> <br />J. “Indirect Cost” means those costs not directly attributable to provision of Collection service, <br />which costs are aggregated into an overhead cost pool(s). Indirect costs include, but are not <br />limited to, costs for general and administrative, general operations, vehicle maintenance, <br />and container maintenance costs. <br />6.2.B. - Page 209
