MINUTE ORDER <br />JOINT CITY COUNCIL / SUCCESSOR AGENCY BOARD <br />PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY MEETING <br />March 26, 2018 <br />MO. 18-046 <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br />Date: March 27, 2018 <br />Attention: City Attorney <br />City Manager <br />"hard copy available upon request's <br />SUBJECT: Local Minimum Wage in Redwood City <br />AGENDA ITEM: 7.A (205) <br />Meeting of the Joint City Council/Successor Agency Board/Public Financing Authority Meeting on <br />March 26, 2018. <br />Present: Council Members, Aguirre, Borgens, Gee, Masur, Seybert, Vice Mayor Howard, and Mayor <br />Bain <br />Waive first reading and introduce an Ordinance to add Chapter 46 "Minimum Wage Ordinance' to the <br />Redwood City Code adopting an increase of the minimum wage for employees working within the <br />City of Redwood City to fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour by 2020 and finding that the proposed <br />ordinance is not a project under CEQA and, in any event, exempt under Section 15061 of the CEQA <br />guidelines. <br />M/S Seybert/Gee to waive the first reading and introduce an Ordinance to add Chapter 46 "Minimum <br />Wage Ordinance" to the Redwood City Code adopting an increase of the minimum wage for <br />employees working within the City of Redwood City to fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour by 2020 and <br />finding that the proposed ordinance is not a project under CEQA and, in any event, exempt under <br />Section 15061 of the CEQA guidelines. <br />On January 1, 2019 the minimum wage will be $13.50. On January 1, 2020 the minimum wage will <br />be $15.00, plus the CPI for 2019, then thereafter to align the minimum wage, the CPI will be added <br />annually. <br />ORDINANCE ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 46 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />RELATING TO A CITY-WIDE MINIMUM WAGE. <br />Motion with Council Member Aguirre opposed by electronic vote. <br />Pamela Aguilar, C&�� <br />City Clerk <br />
