11/28/2005 <br />at the special election for Member of the City Council was Alicia C. Aguirre. That <br />the measures voted upon at the election are as follows: Measure "L" — Shall <br />specified sections of the City Charter be amended to allow appropriations or <br />expenditures of public money to be approved by resolution; permit the City <br />Council to establish by motion a date for the City Manager to submit a proposed <br />budget; and permit the City Council to adopt its budget and cancel any approved <br />appropriation by resolution ?; and Measure "M" — Shall specified sections of the <br />City Charter be amended to permit the Library Board to furnish its proposed <br />budget to the City Manager by the same date as required of other city <br />departments; allow Planning Commissioners and Port Commissioners to <br />continue to hold office until their successors are appointed and qualified; and to <br />permit the Board of Equalization to meet on any regular City Council meeting <br />date in July of each year ?; Measure "N" — Shall a specified section of the City <br />Charter be amended to allow a change in the various threshold amounts for the <br />purchase of materials or supplies to determine when contracts (1) may be <br />awarded without solicitation or advertisement; (2) may be awarded to the lowest <br />responsible bidder after solicitation but without advertisement or public bidding, <br />and (3) may be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder after public bidding? <br />SECTION 2. That the number of votes given in the City to each of the <br />persons above named for the respective offices for which the persons were <br />candidates and for and against the measures were as listed in the attached <br />Exhibit "A." <br />SECTION 3. The City Council does declare and determine that, subject to <br />any significant or substantial factual or numerical deviations adversely affecting <br />the general election results shown on Exhibit A, the following candidates were <br />elected for the full term of four years by the following vote: <br />Diane Howard 10,099 <br />Jeff Ira 9,292 <br />Jim Hartnett 8,711 <br />SECTION 4. The City Council does declare and determine that, subject to <br />any significant or substantial factual or numerical deviations adversely affecting <br />the special election results shown on Exhibit A, the following candidate was <br />elected for a two -year term by the following vote: <br />Alicia C. Aguirre 12,225 <br />SECTION 5. That, subject to any significant or substantial factual or <br />numerical deviations adversely affecting the election results shown on Exhibit A, <br />and as a result of the election, a majority of the voters voting on the Measures <br />relating to the Charter Amendments (Measures "L," "M," and "N ") did vote in favor <br />Atty /Reso.1575 14676 <br />112305 2 Muff # 307 <br />
