<br />6LJ-/ <br /> <br /> <br />December 5, 2005 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Water Enterprise - Status report and preview of 2006 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Information only - No Council action requested <br /> <br />Background <br />Staff will provide the City Council with a brief update on the following Water Enterprise <br />projects and programs: <br />1. Status of the update process for the Urban Water Management Plan 2005. <br />a. Council Members will receive their copies of the "Draft for Public Review" <br />Urban Water Management Plan 2005, dated November 18, 2005. <br />b. The public comment period commenced Nov. 19, and will conclude with a <br />public hearing at the City Council meeting on Dec. 19, 2005. <br />2. Schedule for completion of the Water Financing Plan - 2005 Update. <br />a. The City Council will receive a draft and presentation on Dec. 19, 2005. <br />b. Council will consider adoption on January 23, 2006. <br />3. Water Conservation Program <br />a. Regional response to Redwood City's "Active" Conservation Program <br />b. Results to date and 2006 goals <br />4. Recycled Water Project <br />a. Progress at the South Bayside System Authority treatment plant site <br />b. Status of pipeline design and construction schedule for 2006 <br />c. Schedule for Council consideration of treatment performance monitoring <br />and cross connection prevention program <br />d. Status of Prop 50 Grant Application <br />5. Update on San Francisco's plans for repairs to the Hetch Hetchy regional water <br />system - and implications for Redwood City <br /> <br />Alternative <br />As Council considers action on the above topics in December 2005 and throughout 2006, <br />alternatives for consideration will be presented. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />No fiscal impacts to the Water Enterprise Fund will result from this status report. <br /> <br />Peter Ingram \;::--/ <br />Director, Public Works Services <br /> <br /> <br />Ed er <br />City Manager <br /> <br />Attachment (None: Copies of presentation slides will be available at the meeting) <br />
