August 12, 2002 <br /> <br /> Subject <br /> Final Acceptance - Gossamer Hollow Subdivision Improvements <br /> Engineering File No. 805-04 <br /> <br /> Recommendation <br /> Accept the Gossamer Hollow Subdivision Improvements, following the submission of a <br /> Maintenance Bond in the amount of $256,500.00, in accordance with Paragraph No. 9 <br /> of the Subdivision Agreement, and authorize the release of the bonds. <br /> <br /> Background <br /> On March 17, 1997, the City Council approved the Gossamer Hollow Subdivision, and <br /> the agreement for the improvements of the subdivision. The main improvements <br /> included grading, street construction, the construction of a sewer system, water and <br /> storm drain system, street lighting and street trees, construction of underground utility <br /> lines, landscaping and irrigation for the Common Areas. The subdividers have <br /> completed the construction of the improvements in accordance with the approved <br /> plans, and to the satisfaction of Engineering and Construction Services. <br /> <br />The subdivider, M.J. Brock & Sons, Inc., provided a Faithful Performance Bond and a <br />Labor & Materials Bond, each in the amount of $2,565,000.00, which can now be <br />released. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />Do not accept the improvements for the Gossamer Hollow Subdivision, which would be <br />contrary to prior Council action. " <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />The City will assume maintenance responsibility only for the sanitary sewer system, the <br />water lines and services to the water meters within the pdvate street system.
