Local Minimum Wage in Redwood City (205) <br />Recommendation: <br />Waive first reading and introduce an Ordinance to add Chapter 46 "Minimum <br />Wage Ordinance" to the Redwood City Code adopting an increase of the <br />minimum wage for employees working within the City of Redwood City to <br />fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour by 2020 and finding that the proposed <br />ordinance is not a project under CEQA and, in any event, exempt under <br />Section 15061 of the CEQA guidelines <br />The following members of the public spoke regarding this item: <br />• Greg Brown . Brian Ostrander <br />• Melinda Dart • Amalia Chamorro <br />• Andrew Boone • Bill Gardner <br />• Diana Reddy • Julie Lind <br />M/S Seybert/Gee to waive the first reading and introduce an Ordinance to <br />add Chapter 46 "Minimum Wage Ordinance" to the Redwood City Code <br />adopting an increase of the minimum wage for employees working within the <br />City of Redwood City to fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour by 2020 and finding <br />that the proposed ordinance is not a project under CEQA and, in any event, <br />exempt under Section 15061 of the CEQA guidelines. Motion carried 6-1 <br />with Council Member Aguirre opposed by electronic vote. <br />On January 1, 2019 the minimum wage will be $13.50.
