MINUTE ORDER <br />JOINT CITY COUNCIL / SUCCESSOR AGENCY BOARD <br />PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY MEETING <br />April 09, 2018 <br />MO. 18-053 <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br />Date: April 10, 2018 <br />Attention: City Attorney <br />Community Development Director <br />**hard copy available upon request** <br />SUBJECT: Letter to Governor Brown requesting the reconsideration of including <br />certain Redwood City parcels in the list of Qualified Opportunity Zones <br />eligible for federal tax benefit upon development <br />AGENDA ITEM: 6.1E (205) <br />Meeting of the Joint City Council/Successor Agency Board/Public Financing Authority <br />Meeting on April 9, 2018. <br />Present: Council Members, Aguirre, Borgens, Gee, Masur, Seybert, Vice Mayor Howard, and <br />Mayor Bain <br />M/S Howard/Gee to approve the Consent Calendar. <br />By motion, to authorize the Mayor to send a letter to Governor Brown requesting that <br />Redwood City parcels be removed from the list of Qualified Opportunity Zones and that, if <br />such parcels remain designated as being in a Qualified Opportunity Zone, that relocation <br />benefits be extended to any residents displaced as a result of investment benefitting from the <br />federal tax deferral and that 20% of housing developed with the benefit of the federal tax <br />deferral be designated as affordable housing. <br />Motion carried elously by electronic vote. <br />Melissa Thurman, CMC <br />Assistant City Clerk <br />
