ATTY/RESO.0025/CC RESO ADOPTING THE APPROVAL OF 18-22 CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR CDBG AND HUD <br />REV: 04-13-18 PR <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. ______ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING CONSOLIDATED PLAN (2018-2022) AND ANNUAL <br />ACTION PLAN (2018-2019) AND APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL <br />ASSISTANCE (COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AND <br />HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP FUNDS); CERTIFYING THAT THE <br />CITY HAS FOLLOWED ITS ADOPTED COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION <br />PLAN; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION AND FILING OF ALL <br />DOCUMENTS PERTAINING THERETO (FISCAL YEAR 2018-2019) <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program <br />authorized pursuant to Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 <br />(P.L. 93-383), as amended ("the Act"), requires that jurisdictions receiving federal funds <br />develop a Consolidated Plan and provide for the issuance of grants in order to attain the <br />objective of the development of viable urban communities, by providing decent housing <br />and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for <br />persons of low or moderate income; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has prepared a five-year Consolidated Plan and FY18/19 <br />represents the first year of the Consolidated Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Consolidated Plan is carried out through Annual Action Plans, <br />which provide a concise summary of the actions, activities, and the specific federal and <br />non-federal resources that will be used each year to address the priority needs and <br />specific goals identified by the Consolidated Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to, and reviewed by this Council, a <br />Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plan and an application to the United States <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development for a Community Development Block <br />Grant in the amount of approximately Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000) and <br />7.A. - Page 9
