<br />DES jk 06/20/90 (054/26) <br /> <br />O'-'i~"'" 1 <br />'1\IL;; i'L'.i.. <br /> <br />Jlm 25 .m:J <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />No.11327 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHIEF OF POLICE TO ISSUE PERMIT <br />FOR THE REDWOOD SHORES BIATHLON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Vehicle Code Sections 21100 and 21101, <br /> <br />respectively, local authorities, by resolution, may adopt rules <br /> <br />and regulations regulating processions or assemblages on streets <br /> <br />under their jurisdiction, and temporarily closing a portion of <br /> <br />any street for celebrations, parades, local special events and <br /> <br />other purposes when deemed necessary for the safety and <br /> <br />protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street <br /> <br />during the temporary closing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Peninsula, Inc. has <br /> <br />requested that this Council permit them to conduct the Redwood <br /> <br />Shores Biathlon in and along certain hereinafter described City <br /> <br />rights-of-way on August 19, 1990, commencing at 10: 00 a.m. and <br /> <br />ending at 12:00 noon, and it is the intent and desire of this <br /> <br />Council to permit Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Peninsula, Inc. <br /> <br />to conduct said Biathlon, and to close rights-of-way, as <br /> <br />hereinafter set forth; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby grant to the Big Brothers/Big <br /> <br />Sisters of the Peninsula, Inc. the right to conduct the Redwood <br /> <br />Shores Biathlon in the City of Redwood City on August 19, 1990, <br /> <br />and does hereby authorize and direct the Chief of Police to issue <br /> <br />a permit to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Peninsula Inc. <br /> <br />for said purpose. <br />
