<br />DES: d j k 0 (;..1 0 1 /90 ( 051/ # 2 6 ) <br />, ''''!'' ilL <br />Vi, Hit l\JH <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11015 <br /> <br />:JUN 1 1 1990 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING FOR FEDERAL AID - URBAN ("FAU") <br />TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM PRIORITY THE EAST BAYSHORE ROAD/ <br />BLOMQUIST STREET EXTENSION PROJECT, AND REQUESTING <br />DESIGNATION OF SAID PROJECT IN FAU SYSTEM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development has advised <br /> <br />this Council that the East Bayshore Road/Blomquist Street <br /> <br />Extension Project is a vital transportation system project, <br /> <br />construction of which will result in improved traffic circulation <br /> <br />and traffic safety in the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the construction of such project will benefit not <br /> <br />only this City but will also provide regional benefits and said <br /> <br />project will facilitate traffic movement on state highways <br /> <br />located in this City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to qualify for Federal Aid - Urban ("FAU") <br /> <br />transportation system funds, the streets within which the <br /> <br />aforesaid project is to be constructed must be included in the <br /> <br />designation of the FAU transportation system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo <br /> <br />is responsible for making such designations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council hereby finds that the East Bayshore Road/ <br />Blomquist Street Extension Project as described by the Director <br /> <br />of Community Development in that certain report to the Honorable <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council dated May 18, 1990, on file in the office <br /> <br />of the City Clerk, to which report reference is hereby made for <br /> <br />:~ <br />
