<br />OHiGJ r~/'IL <br /> <br />DES:djk ~5/25/90 (048/26) <br />DES: dj k~ 1:"0/ 11 /90R <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11308 <br /> <br />JUN 1 1 1990 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING WATER CONSERVATION <br />LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION GUIDELINES AND RESCINDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10828 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a water shortage emergency has been declared by <br /> <br />this Council following duly noticed public hearing on the <br /> <br />question of said emergency held on June 11, 1990, and regulations <br /> <br />and restrictions on the delivery and consumption of water, and <br /> <br />penalties for violations thereof, shall be in effect in light of <br /> <br />the generally prevailing condition of drought which has seriously <br /> <br />reduced the supply of water available from the Hetch-Hetchy water <br /> <br />system to the City and County of San Francisco and, in turn, to <br /> <br />this City pursuant to contract with said City and County of San <br /> <br />Francisco; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 10828 adopted July 25, <br /> <br />1988, a Water Conservation Policy and Guidelines for landscaping <br /> <br />and irrigation systems for new developments was approved and <br /> <br />adopted by this Council for the then prevailing water shortage <br /> <br />emergency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Water Conservation Policy and Guidelines <br /> <br />approved and adopted pursuant to said Resolution No. 10828 has <br /> <br />remained in effect as a prudent measure providing for water <br /> <br />conservation in the absence of an imminent water shortage <br /> <br />emergency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in view of the current water shortage emergency <br /> <br />this Council desires to approve and enact revised Water <br /> <br />Conservation Guidelines for landscaping and irrigation reflecting <br /> <br />experience encountered under the prior Guidelines; <br />
