HILL <br />IN RECOGNITION OF OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth G. Hill is retiring as Superintendent of the <br />Redwood City School District after eleven years of distinguished and <br /> <br />innovative leadership to the District and the field of education; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under Dr. Hill's tutelage, the Redwood City School District <br /> <br />supported new programs such as bilingual education, middle schools, <br /> <br />accelerated schools, alternative education, programs for children at risk <br /> <br />of failure, strategic planning, and the belief that the entire community <br />must be involved in education to provide the optimum environment for <br />achievement for all students; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth G. Hill has been an active and productive member <br />of our community and has served as the Director of the Boys and Girls Club; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mission Statement and Board Values of the Redwood City <br />School District reflect Dr. Hill's commitment to a quality education for <br />all our young people and will be a lasting tribute to a career marked by <br /> <br />its innovation and outstanding leadership; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGI LA BERGE, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL do hereby commend DR. KENNETH G.
